A Major Milestone for a Much Loved Local Nature Reserve
We are delighted to confirm the successful handover of the new visitor centre and café at Pickering’s Pasture. The project has been delivered for Halton Borough Council and marks an important addition to one of the area’s most popular green spaces. The new building will give visitors a modern and welcoming base with stunning views across the River Mersey and a comfortable space to enjoy the surroundings all year round.
A New Hub for Community Activity
The visitor centre has been designed to support community events activities and educational programmes that are championed by The Friends of Pickering’s Pasture. The space will provide a vibrant and flexible hub where local groups can come together and where visitors can learn more about the reserve its wildlife and its history. We look forward to seeing the building fully occupied the landscaping completed and the whole scheme brought to life as the finishing touches are applied.
Proud to Support a Local Nature Asset
Pickering’s Pasture is a valued location for residents walkers families and nature enthusiasts across the region. We are proud to have played our part in enhancing this much loved space and contributing to its long-term future. The completed centre will improve the visitor experience and strengthen the reserve’s role as a key community asset. The final site visit even included a moment with Steve the squirrel who managed to feature in the last photo.
