Whitfield and Brown completed the extension and refurbishment of Pensby Wood Day Care Centre for Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council delivering improved specialist facilities for people with profound disabilities. The project involved constructing two single storey steel framed extensions that created new dining and games areas along with a hydrotherapy pool. A small extension to the entrance lobby improved access while internal demolition allowed care spaces to be reconfigured to better support users. The centre remained partially occupied throughout which required carefully planned sequencing and close coordination with staff. Additional facilities included a sensory garden spa and chill out areas music and interactive rooms mobility hoists and specialist equipment. Part funded by the Tesco Bags of Help campaign the scheme reflects Whitfield and Browns experience in delivering sensitive healthcare environments with meaningful community impact.
