Whitfield & Brown delivered a new single storey changing pavilion at Botanic Park in Kensington, Liverpool, creating a modern community facility to support increased participation in outdoor sport and wider use of local green space. The project was delivered within the Kensington Regeneration Zone as part of a wider programme of neighbourhood investment.

The pavilion was developed in partnership with Liverpool City Council and Community 7, alongside a range of funding partners including the Football Foundation, Liverpool Neighbourhood Regeneration Programme, Active City, Kensington Regeneration and Sport England. The aim was to provide a high quality, welcoming facility that strengthens the sporting offer within Botanic Park and supports long‑term community use.

Design and functionality

The completed building is a distinctive standalone structure that sits comfortably within the park landscape. The pavilion contains eight secure changing rooms, generous storage areas and a community meeting room with integrated kitchen facilities, allowing the building to support both sporting activity and wider community use.

The design delivers a robust, practical facility while creating a positive presence within the park environment, reinforcing the role of Botanic Park as a valued local recreational space.

Community impact
