Transforming Learning Spaces at Joseph Paxton Campus

Whitfield & Brown is pleased to announce that we have been appointed by Wirral Council to deliver the internal alterations and refurbishment works at Joseph Paxton Campus in Birkenhead. Procured via the Procure Partnerships Framework, this project will create modern, high‑quality spaces that enhance the delivery of Home School Services and support the long‑term development of the campus.

A Comprehensive Refurbishment Programme

The scheme will repurpose former library service areas to provide fresh, functional and purpose‑designed environments. Works include the formation of new classrooms, staff spaces, offices and communal areas that will enable improved teaching, collaboration and day‑to‑day operations. The project also includes the creation of new toilet facilities including an Accessible WC with shower alongside a full flat roof replacement and external works incorporating essential drainage improvements. The design has been carefully coordinated to improve the quality, durability and usability of the campus for all building users.

Supporting Accessibility, Wellbeing and Efficiency

This investment places accessibility, wellbeing and long‑term building performance at the heart of delivery. The upgraded layout and facilities will better support specialist educational provision, while improvements to the building fabric will enhance energy efficiency and create a more comfortable learning environment.

Looking Ahead

We look forward to progressing toward a site start and to delivering a high‑quality refurbishment that will benefit children, young people and staff across Wirral. This project represents another step in our ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional education environments across the region.
